They companion people who are going through difficult life transitions/situations and need someone who will listen, care, and show empathy, for as long a time as is needed.
They are the hands and feet and face of Christ to those in need.
Stephen Ministry St. Louis is a not-for-profit ministry organization started in 1975 with its headquarters in St. Louis, MO. It is trans-denominational, serving more than 180 denominations. There are currently 75,000 Pastors and lay Stephen Leaders who serve in 13,000 congregations that have Stephen Ministry.
SM is a distinctively Christian caring ministry is which clergy and lay ministers work together to provide quality one to one care in meeting the needs of people experiencing a wide range of life circumstances or crises. The mission is to show the love of Jesus Christ through people.
